My son and I were on a road trip to drop him off to his new college in Utah, when I had my experience with Mobility Roadside Assistance.
I was 61 miles east of Austin, NV on Highway 50. My van developed a problem with the engine. I had turned around knowing that the next town east was over 75 miles away and that the nearest was behind me in Austin. There was no cell service with my phone and my son flagged a truck down from a mining company working in the area. He let us use his cell to call Mobility Roadside. They sent a tow truck that was a flat bed, winched me and my son on to the tow truck and ran us back to Austin NV where the garage diagnosed my problem, fixed it so we could get back on the highway again.
All together it took around an 1 1/2 hours to get the winch truck to us and another hour to get us to Austin, but I can tell you it was hardly a problem especially when no money had to come out of my wallet to pay the tow bill and it was in the hundreds I can tell you, because I saw the invoice I signed.
I could not have been more pleased with the service I got from Mobility Roadside Service. They directed a tow unit to our location in North Idaho, when we ran out of fuel. I felt foolish having to call for such a thing, but I did remember I had an Roadside contract. The tow truck brought me $10.00 worth of fuel and then helped me get my van started which took considerable time for some reason. I paid the tow truck driver for the fuel with a $20 and told him to keep the change and have a beer on me. All of this happened with in a little over an hours’ time. I’m one grateful disabled person and glad I purchased this plan with my new van when it was offered to me. I had such a good peace of mind.
I ran my van into the median and could not get out of my van due to the mud and water soaked ground I was stuck in and because I was in my wheelchair. The state trooper wanted to call someone he knew to come and get me out of my predicament, and pull me back on the highway. He told me it was going to cost a few hundred dollars and I remembered I had the Mobility Emergency Roadside contract. I called them instead, told them my issues and they dispatched a tow truck that got to me within 20 minutes and even beat the other tow truck that the trooper called for the other damaged units in the wreck. I was on my way in about 45 minutes’ total.
We were having lunch in Winnemucca NV, and after eating, went back to our car only to find that we had accidentally locked ourselves out. We knew our Mobility Roadside Assistance contract was in the glove box of our car. Fortunately, there was a locksmith across the street from where we were. After the locksmith unlocked our car, we called Mobility Roadside, and they provided a credit card over the phone for the service and we were on our way.
I had an experience with 2 flat tires at the same time. I had a spare for one but not the other. I called Mobility Roadside Assistance, that I had purchased a contract from in March of 2014, never expecting I’d have to use the service. I explained my dilemma to the operator at Mobility Roadside and he asked me if I was alright and if I needed any other help than my tires fixed. I explained I was in my wheelchair and had my wife and son with me. The company called a paratransit company and they picked us up at the same time the tow truck took our vehicle to a tire shop within 10 miles of where we were. The van dropped us off at the tire store and everything was paid for by Mobility Roadside. We were back on the road within 2 hours all told, happy that we had decided to purchase the roadside contract.
While in Ohio area we had two occasions to use Mobility Roadside. One was for a mechanical issue with our starter.
A tow truck was dispatched by Mobility Roadside to tow our unit to the nearest repair facility and a van to pick us up since one of our passengers uses a wheelchair. The tow truck and the van got there within 15 minutes of each other, the work was completed and we got back on the road, in a couple of hours.
Once we picked up our uncle in Indiana, and were driving back home to Seattle, we then had a suspension problem with our van. Again we called Mobility Roadside and they dispatched a tow truck and a paratransit van to take us to a local dealership for repairs. They got us back on the road again within 4 hours and had no more problems traveling across states on our way home.
I am a paraplegic and I got the towing fully expecting that I would never have to use it. Well in March I had a blowout on the interstate. When we called Mobility Roadside Assistance for assistance, I explained that I’m in a wheelchair and I was with my wife and son.
They sent a tow truck and paratransit assistance, coordinated the whole thing and delivered all of us safely to a tire store. Everything was taken care of by Mobility Roadside including the the repair of our tire and we were back on the road within 2 hours.
